Review #27: The Balm Meet Matt(e) Nude Palette

7:40 AM

Hey Pretty Girls!

I am back with another review from The Balm. This time I am gonna talk about Meet Matt(e) Nude Palette. If you know me, then you might guess that I LOVE matte eyeshadow. Maybe because they are so pretty and yet versatile...you can wear it for work, party , or any other occasion without looking too much. Even if you wear alot of colors with this type of eyeshadow, people will justify you because it's matte eyeshadow and you wont look like a disco ball with it. So I had been searching for a good matte eyeshadow palette for a while,  and I got Lorac Pro Palette which I adore so much, but then Lorac Pro Palette is not all matte eyeshadow. So my journey continued and finally I found this palette, the one and only Meet Matt(e) Nude Palette from The Balm. I was so happy when I knew all the colors are matte and there's no inch of shimmer shades in this palette.

So when this palette came to my hand, I was surprised because its size is bigger than I thought it would be. It has a same size of a small notebook (not laptop in case you referring notebook as laptop). When I flipped open the palette, which came with a good size of mirror, I finally understand why the palette has to be wider than the usual palette, it's because the size of the eyeshadow it self is big, that means I got a ton of product right there which is nice.

For the color selection I am very happy to know that from all 9 shades inside this palette, I get 5 new shades which I never owned in my other eyeshadow palette. Those shades are: M. Johnson, M. Abdul, M. Lombardi, and M. Hung, M. Singh. And what makes them more excited are not only they are new color for me, but they are also a very wearable color ( not those some funky color which I will end up not using at all). My favorite shade from this palette has to be Matt Singh. This color is so unique yet beautiful, the type of shades that good for transition color but also will look gorgeous when we pat it on our lid.

EOTD using Meet Matt(e) Nude Palette

When I swatched all the color to the back of my hand it looks kind of poor and powdery, but don't worry, they transfer beautifully on the lid except for Matt Malloy which is a bit chalky. In term of texutre, I think Matt(e) Nude Palette has a good texture of eyeshadow, but not the best. I've compared it with matte colors from Lorac Pro Palette, and I got to say Lorac has better and smoother texture and also slightly more pigmented.

To sum up, I think for the price that I paid for this palette, which was IDR 370.000, I am not disappointed with this palette. I am very pleased with the quality and shades (actually more of the shades than the quality :D). Is it live up to my expectation of a best matte eyeshadow palette? Well, let's just say it is on the right track :D

So what do you think? Have you tried this palette? And what is you best matte eyeshadow palette? Share with me please
