Review #22: Ben Nye Banana Luxury Powder

Halo Laddies!

One of my favorite Youtuber is Judy from It'sJudyTime, and in one of her old video she mentioned about her favorite product which is Ben Nye Banana Luxury Powder. Since then, I've been searching on Internet about this powder. This product even getting bigger after Kim Kardasians's Make Up Artist using this powder for her make up and Wayne Goss ( my other favorite Youtuber) praised this product as well.  After all these raves, I knew I need to get this powder for my self.

Ben Nye Banana Luxury Powder is not a magic powder or some exclusive high end product that only used by celebrities. It's basially a powder that do wonders. it's claimed to be: a mattifying translucent setting powders, that will remove the white cast in photos that often comes with other finishing powder, formulated to absorb excess oil and soften the appearance of pores and texture.

I've been using this products for around 3 months now and I want to share my thought with you all about this product. I bought Ben Nye Banana Luxury that comes in a dome jar (the smallest size) which contains 26 gram/0,93 Oz of products, it's around the same size as Marks powder (Bedak Marks). And as you may all know, it's alot of products. So even though it's the smallest size compare to the 1,5 Oz , 3 Oz, and 8Oz size, it's definitely going to last for a long time. Again, although it's the smallest size, the packaging is bulky which will take space in my make up pouch. That's why every time I travel I never bring this powder unless I really need it.

The texture of Ben Nye Luxury powder is super smooth. It looks yellow on the swatch, but when I apply it, the powder gives a yellowish tint to my face which suits my skin tone. The result is a matte finish but it doesn't make my face looks flat. My skin also looks flawless and my pores seem smaller every time I put this on top of my foundation. It's perfect for setting and locking my under eye concealer or highlight.

My biggest problem when it comes to a powder is it doesn't really absorbs the excess oil on my face after few hours. As you can see in the picture, after 3 hours using it (without touch up), my make up still looks good, with a little bit shine on my nose. I have to say that this powder definitely last longer than any powder that I use before. I mean, it definitely doesn't hold up to 8 hours or so, but since it lasts for 3-5 hours, I considered it long lasting because other powders don't hold up that long.

Ben Nye Banana Luxury Powder obviously not cheap for a powder, I bought this for around IDR.200,000 but again you get a lot of products that could probably last for a year. I compared it with my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder and both product give the same result which is mattifying my skin skin and minimize my pores, but compare to the super transparent Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, Ben Nye Banana Luxury Powder is definitely on the yellowish side. Other thing that really make a difference between Ben Nye and Matte is Ben Nye holds up longer.

All in all, I honestly think this product is wonderful. Will I purchase it again? Yes, if I have the money. If I don't, I will skip it and pick Rimmel Stay Matte instead.

Have you tried this product? Share with me please.
Have a nice day all!
